    Role Summary/Purpose
    A motivated and self-driven field support technician with experience in the implementation, installation, operation, training and ongoing support for E9-1-1 and NG9-1-1 call taking equipment and related support systems. This position is to support PSAPs (public safety answering positions) throughout the midwest.
    Knowledge areas should include:
    • Windows XP and W7 and W8 experience (certification is not as impressive as real world experience, so don’t get confused that an MCSE carries a lot of weight)
    • telephony knowledge and acronym terms
    • local area network installation and troubleshooting
    • human machine user interface equipment and systems

    Essential responsibilities
    Work within a field support team that provides platinum level support to the public safety industry segment. This work team has initial design-to-implementation support for lP networking, including hardware and software configuration.
    Qualifications and Requirements
    Bachelor degree (or equivalent work experience) in computer hardware from an accredited institute or prior work experience
    Desired Characteristics
    • experience in computer, audio, radio, IP networking
    • related enterprise class system components
    • experience in PBX installation & equipment
    • experience in VOIP systems
    • experience in a work setting with a low margin of error
    • Strong problem solving abilities
    • Experience with team based approach to any type of problem

    This work team has responsibility for initial design -to-implementation support for emergency message processing, routing and delivery.
    Qualifications and Requirements

    Desired Characteristics
    • Experience in system and sub-system development
    • Experience in a work setting that has a very low margin of error
